Introduction
The Three Greens Walk
The walk passes through 3 of the 5 greens in Northill Parish, through an ancient wood, crosses the parish brook twice, and includes meadows and open arable fields with extensive views across the Ivel Valley. A wide variety of domestic architecture (ancient and modern) is to be seen along the route. The walk is about 4 miles, with an optional short cut which approximately halves the distance.

How To Get There By Car
Northill is situated 8 miles east of Bedford and 2 miles from the A1 at Sandy. From the A1 take the left turning to Upper Caldecote after the B658 and continue to Ickwell, follow signs to Northill.
Cars may be parked in the road outside the Village Hall and alongside the Churchyard wall opposite pond A on the map. Please park with consideration.

Access and General Information
Length: 4 miles with optional short cut for two mile route

Access Information:
Surface Types: You will walk across surfaces ranging from hard and firm with no stones greater than 10mm, to grass or uncultivated earth paths with no ruts or grass or uncultivated earth paths with ruts and mud. There is also some road walking.
Linear Gradient: Linear gradients are very gentle throughout this walk.
Cross Falls: There are cross falls of between 1:10 - 1:15 between points C and D.
Width Restriction: There is a sleeper bridge between points K and L with a width restriction of 30".
Steps: None recorded.
Barriers: There is one 2-way opening gate with a width restriction greater than 750mm and two one-step styles.
Refreshments: There is a public house, The Crown, at Northill and a village store at Upper Caldecote.
Public Toilets: Enter content such as 'Located at the Danish Camp.'
Picnic Tables: None recorded.
Seats: Seats are located at various points on the route: 3 at point A, 1 at point J and 6 at point M.
