How To Get There By Car

Henlow Camp lies on the A6001 about 4.5 miles south of Biggleswade, near to the junction of the A6001 and the A600 Bedford - Hitchin Road.
Parking is available near the start of the walk. Please park considerately.

This circular walk starts at Henlow Camp on the A6001 Hitchin Road. There is adequate parking in the area.

Access and General Information

Length: 4 miles (6.6km)
Access Information :
Surface Types: You will walk across surfaces ranging from hard and firm with no stones greater than 5mm, to hard and firm with some loose stones, none greater than 10mm, to grass or uncultivated earth paths without any ruts, to cultivated farmland.
Linear Gradient: There are linear gradients of between 1:6-1:9, of between 1:14-1:1 and of 1:18 or less.
Cross Falls: None recorded.
Width Restriction: There is a width restriction of 800mm on Arlesey Common and one of 900mm on the bridge over the River Hiz.
Steps: There are 11 steps on the bridge over the Hiz with a maximum step height of 200mm. There are also 2 bars on footbridges over ditches at Point 6 which have heights of 520mm and 540mm.
Barriers: There are 2 kissing gates with a minimum restriction of greater than 1500mm and 3 kissing gates with a restriction of less than 1000mm.
Refreshments: There are pubs and shops at Henlow Camp.
