Elstow village is best known as the birthplace of the 17th century preacher and author John Bunyan. But Elstow's history stretches back many hundreds of years before Bunyan's birth. It's a fascinating area to visit.
Elstow is situated south-east of Bedford just off the A421 (the Southern Bedford bypass). Parking is very limited in the village. Please park thoughtfully. Alternatively there are many car parks in Bedford itself and it is possible to walk or take a bus to Elstow.
The Moot Hall is open on Saturday afternoons and is no longer open on Good Fridays. This year, Elstow May Festival is on May 14th and the Hall will be open on that day from 12 until 4pm.
