Mill Meadows, Arlesey

Mill Meadows is an area of traditional waterside grazing pasture alongside the River Hiz. The farmer is undertaking a programme of conservation works, including tree pollarding and management of the grassland through sensitive grazing. You are invited to wander over the whole area for quiet enjoyment of the countryside. Access end date 30.09.2013.

How To Get There By Car

From the A1 take the A507 towards Stotfold and Henlow and follow the signs to Arlesey.
There is very limited on road parking in Station Road and Lynton Avenue off of the High Street in Arlesey. Please park thoughtfully.

Surface Types: You will walk across surface types ranging from hard and firm with no stones larger than 5mm, to hard and firm with no stones greater than 10mm, to hard but variable surfaces with loose stones, grass or uncultivated earth paths with and without mud and ruts.
Linear Gradient: There is a gradient of between 1:6-1:9 near to the railway crossing.

Width Restriction: There are no restrictions less than 1000mm.
Steps: There are 2 steps with a maximum step height of 100mm on the bridge at the weir.
Barriers: There is one kissing gate with a restriction of less than 1000mm, one 2-way opening gate with a width of greater than 750mm, and two kissing gates with a restriction of between 1000-1500mm.
