Ampthill

Ancient market town, under the brow of The Greensand Ridge. Picturesque narrow streets are lined with fine Georgian buildings. Ampthill Park was once a favourite hunting spot for Henry VIII, and the former 15th C. castle is where his wife Katherine of Aragon was held during their divorce proceedings - a stone cross marks the spot.
