This 6¾ walk in the northwest corner of Bedfordshire takes in the quiet, unspoiled villages of Yelden and Melchbourne. A shorter 4 mile option is available. At Yelden you can see the spectacular remains of a Norman motte and bailey castle.

How to get there by car: From the east of the county, take the Kimbolton Road, B660 from Bedford to Pertenhall, then take the road to Swineshead and carry on through the village until you reach Yelden. From the west, take the A6 north from Bedford and just before you reach Rushden, take a right hand turn through Newton Bromswold to Yelden.

Please park carefully near the walker friendly pub, The Chequers, in the High Street, Yelden.
